A Busy Weekend On Tap In Hillsdale County

It promises to be a busy weekend with plenty to do across the WCSR listening area.

On Saturday, the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church will host Free Fest. The carnival will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It features games, prizes, food, and inflatables—indoor activities are planned in case of rain.

A block party is planned on the Courthouse Square in downtown Hillsdale from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be food trucks, music, games, and more. The event is hosted by Hillsdale Renaissance. For more information, visit hillsdalerenaissance.com or find them on social media.

Also on Saturday, the Underdogs Dog Days of Summer party takes place in Big Dog’s Backyard at 210 W. Carleton Road in Hillsdale. It’s the last party of the season. Bring your seating–It’s a rain-or-shine event! The evening gets underway at 5:00 p.m. Attendees can meet K-9 deputies with the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office. A burger & brat dinner will be available as well. Listen to music by Scotty Butters from 6:00–8:00 p.m., with karaoke from 8–10 p.m. Donations are welcome to support K-9 equipment and training.

On Sunday, the Hillsdale Township Firefighters Association will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. at 2323 W. Bacon Road. Donations are appreciated.

Later Sunday, there’s a free Bluegrass Gospel concert featuring Carson Peters & Iron Mountain. The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. at Carl Fast Park on US-12 in Jonesville; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and friends.
