An Illinois Man, who was convicted of a murder that occurred ten years ago, is facing domestic violence and felonious assault charges in Hillsdale County.

32-year-old Bradley French, of Varna, Illinois, was arrested on August 10th by Michigan State Police, following a report of a domestic incident.

He was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, domestic violence, resisting police, and a weapons offense.

According to WLPO Radio, in Peru, Illinois, French was convicted in the 2015 bow & arrow killing of Joshua Scaman.

French was initially sentenced to 30 years in prison, following his 2016 conviction.
He won a new trial on appeal, and was sentenced to a lesser term of four-to-twenty years on a conviction for second degree murder, in 2023.

With credit for time already served, French was released from an Illinois prison earlier this year.

He’s due for a preliminary exam in Hillsdale County District Court on Wednesday.
