Dry Conditions Return To The Region

After being drought-free for months, southern Michigan is again experiencing dry conditions.
According to the latest update from the Federal government’s Drought Monitor website, portions of southern Hillsdale, Branch, and Lenawee Counties are listed as being “abnormally dry,” which is the lowest level of drought conditions.
After a prolonged drought that lasted through most of 2024, the region had returned to normal moisture conditions back in the spring of this year.
The Drought Monitor website offers updates on conditions each Thursday.
