Hillsdale City officials have released a list of road improvements that have been completed since City Manager David Mackie took office in 2016.
Over the past nine years, the city has completed roughly 46 miles of road work.
The work has included reconstructing sections of several streets, as well as milling & repaving, crack filling, and chip seal in a number of areas.
The work has been completed with money from a local street millage, Special Assessment Districts, and grant funding.
Looking ahead, city officials plan to invest in an additional 2.5 miles of road repairs through 2028. Upcoming projects include reconstructing Galloway Drive West to the wastewater treatment plant, South Street from S. Broad to Norwood, and Industrial Drive. The city also plans to crush and reshape the existing asphalt on Reading Avenue before overlaying new asphalt.
Reconstruction of Willow and Lake Streets is also in the plan.
City officials say those improvements are dependent on available funding.
They’re part of a long-term effort to upgrade infrastructure that has crumbled over more than half a century.
