A Cement City man was one of two people killed in a fiery head-on crash in southern Jackson County, Wednesday Morning. The crash occurred around 11:30 on US 127 near Loomis Road in Liberty Township.
Michigan State Police say a 46-year-old Grass Lake Man was southbound in a pickup truck when he crossed the center line, striking a northbound dump truck. The pickup truck continued, colliding with a second pickup truck, which was driven by a 59-year-old man from Cement City. Both pickups burst into flames.
Both their drivers died at the scene, despite efforts from bystanders to pull them from their vehicles.
The dump truck driver was not seriously injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
