Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Jefferson Township, Sunday afternoon.
The Jefferson Township Fire Department was dispatched to 8331 Hudson Road, around 4:15 pm.
Assistant Chief Shawn Jones told WCSR News, crews arrived to find a mobile home engulfed in flames.
They called for assistance from the Hudson Fire Department. Hillsdale City brought the air tank trailer.
Crews poured 60,000 gallons of water on the flames.
The cleared just after 8:00 pm.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Jones said the home is a total loss.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department’s Victims Services Unit responded to the scene to assist three adult residents and two children with emergency shelter overnight.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters were assisted at the scene by the Hillsdale American Legion’s Mobile Canteen unit.
