The Branch County Sheriff’s Office has completed its report on a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus that occurred last week.
Deputies were dispatched around 4:30 pm on October 16th to the intersection of E Garfield Road and N Behnke Road.
They arrived on scene to find a collision involving a Pansophia Academy school bus, a Ford F-250 pickup truck, and a Volvo XC90.
Accident investigators say the pickup truck, driven by a Quincy man, was westbound on East Garfield when he turned left onto North Behnke Road. The Volvo, driven by a Coldwater woman traveling eastbound, struck the pickup truck, causing it to spin out and hit the school bus carrying 16 students.
One student was transported to the hospital by family members.
Three occupants of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and were taken to Insight Hospital in Coldwater by LifeCare Ambulance. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Michigan State Police, and members of the Coldwater Fire Department.
