A motorcyclist escaped injury after being blown off the road Monday afternoon in Reading Township.
Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to M-49 near Quackenbush Road, around 3:00 pm.
Sheriff Scott Hodshire told WCSR News, a motorcyclist had just left work at the north end of Reading, and was northbound on M-49, when a wind gust blew him into a ditch.
The rider, whose name has not been released, kept the bike upright while navigating the steep ditch. The motorcycle and rider came to a stop, still on two wheels, in a field.
Hodshire said the rider’s skill and quick reflexes saved him from a serious crash.
Wind gusts approaching 30 miles per hour were recorded across the region on Monday.
