Local Voters Shoot Down One Millage And Pass Another

Wright Township voters, on Tuesday, shot down a road and bridge millage by a two-vote margin, 85 ”no” to 83 ”yes.”
The 1.9-mill proposal would have generated an estimated $125,771 annually over 20 years.
The 168 voters who turned out for the election represented just over 15% of the township’s registered voters.

Meanwhile, voters in the Hanover-Horton School District approved a renewal of the .95-mill sinking fund millage. The margin there was pretty convincing, at 806 “yes” to 517 “no.”
Voters in Moscow and Somerset Townships contributed 150 votes. The margin in Hillsdale County was 98 “yes” to 52 “no.”
The continued funding will be used for school property purchases, security upgrades, technology, and other district needs through 2034.
