Flynn Honored With Book Of Golden Deeds Award

A number of people turned out to honor retired WCSR personality Bob Flynn on Thursday Evening.
He was honored with the Hillsdale Exchange Club’s Book of Golden Deeds Award. 
The award was given in recognition of Bob’s years of dedication to the community through his work at WCSR, as well as his membership in a number of service clubs and organizations.
Bob retired in 2024 after a broadcasting career that spanned more than 40 years. 
He was elected to the Hillsdale City Council shortly after retiring from WCSR. 
Featured speakers at Thursday’s banquet included retired WCSR General Manager and Morning host Mike Flynn, along with Bob’s son Matt Flynn, and his former sports broadcasting partner Scott Phillips.
35th District State Representative Jennifer Wortz was on hand to present Bob with recognition from the state legislature. 
In his acceptance speech, Flynn urged those in attendance to get involved in the community through service organizations and non-profits. 
A number of past Book of Golden Deeds recipients were on hand, including former Hillsdale County Circuit Court Judge Mike Smith and former Hillsdale County 9-1-1 & Emergency Management Director Doug Sanford, who emceed the event.
