More Details Released In Fatal Friday Crash

Authorities are continuing their investigation of a Friday morning traffic crash that claimed the life of a Jonesville man.
Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Homer Road, around 9:24 am, in response to a report of a vehicle that had left the road and entered a pond.
The Sheriff’s Department Dive Team was brought in to assist at the scene.
Divers found 19-year-old Dakota Osborne, of Jonesville, still inside the vehicle, which was submerged in about twelve feet of water.
He was transported by Reading Emergency Unit Ambulance to Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say an autopsy, conducted over the weekend, confirmed the cause of death was drowning.
Sheriff Scott Hodshire told WCSR News that investigators are continuing to piece together evidence to determine what led to the crash.
Deputies were assisted by the Litchfield Police & Fire Departments and the Hillsdale City Fire Department.
