Barring any absent members, the Hillsdale City Council will be at full strength for the first time in nearly a year when it holds its regularly scheduled meeting this evening.
With the election of Scott Sessions as Mayor earlier this month, the council now has nine members.
They had been short by one member since Adam Stockford stepped down near the end of 2024, when he moved out of the city.
Along with the swearing-in of Sessions, tonight’s agenda includes a letter from Police & Fire Chief Scott Hephner, announcing his retirement effective December 1st.
Council will also discuss the possibility of re-establishing a committee to explore funding options for street repair–The Funding Alternatives Identification & Recommendation, or FAIR, committee was formed several years ago. It was disbanded after city officials opted for a millage increase and Special Assessment Districts, among mechanisms, for funding street work.
Council meets at 7:00 pm on the third floor of City Hall. The meetings are open to the public. They’re also streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel.
