Skelton Arraigned For Murder In Sons’ Disappearance

Just over a week before he was scheduled to be released from prison, the father of three young boys who went missing from Morenci 15 years ago has officially been charged with their murders.

53-year-old John Skelton was arraigned in Lenawee County District Court on Monday on three counts each of Open Murder and Tampering with evidence.

Skelton was scheduled for release from prison on November 29th.

He has been serving a prison sentence since 2011 for three counts of unlawful imprisonment related to the disappearance of his sons, Andrew, Alexander, and Tanner, over Thanksgiving weekend in 2010. The boys were 5, 7, and 9 years old when they disappeared.

A court declared the boys dead earlier this year.

Skelton is due for a probable cause hearing on November 24th.
