Community Foundation YOUTH Focus On Student Wellness

Student wellness is the focus of a project that was recently completed by the Hillsdale County Community Foundation Y.O.U.T.H. Advisory Council.
The group, made up of students from around Hillsdale County, has assembled 500 student wellness kits to support youth mental health in local schools.
The kits, which are designed to provide comfort and coping tools for students experiencing stress or anxiety, were distributed to counselors serving every public school in Hillsdale County.
Age-specific versions of the kits were created to cater to different ages and grade levels.
Advisor Mindy Eggleston said the YOUTH leaders “Recognized that in today’s often impersonal world, small tools can make a big impact.” She said the kits contain evidence-based tools to help students manage stress and improve emotional resilience.
