Skelton Murder Case Set For Preliminary Exam

wcsr-dale-news-header-2
A Morenci man, whose three sons went missing 15 years ago, will be back in court in May, as the murder case against him progresses.
Fifty-three-year-old John Skelton appeared for a probable cause hearing in Lenawee County District Court on Wednesday on three counts each of Open Murder and Tampering with evidence.
The case is set for a May 11th preliminary exam. That’s when prosecutors will need to prove there’s enough evidence for the case to proceed.
Skelton served a 15-year prison sentence for three counts of unlawful imprisonment related to the disappearance of his sons, Andrew, Alexander, and Tanner, over Thanksgiving weekend in 2010. The boys were 5, 7, and 9 years old when they disappeared. They have not been found.
A court declared the boys dead earlier this year.
Skelton was officially charged with their murders last month,  just days before he was set to be released from prison on the earlier conviction.
