Fifth District Congressman Tim Walberg has recognized a local
veteran as the Veteran of the Month for December,
Renae Shircliff is the Director of the Hillsdale County Veterans Affairs Office. She served in the Army as a Specialist 4th Class, working as a Tank Mechanic and a driver for her Commanding Officer. During her time in Stuttgart, Germany, she earned the Army Achievement Medal.
After her active duty service, Shircliff continued her commitment to veterans by joining the Hillsdale County Veterans Affairs Office in 2013.
She rose to become the Director in 2018. According to a press release from Walberg’s office, under Shircliff’s leadership, Hillsdale County veterans have received over $32 million in VA benefits in both 2022 and 2023, and an additional $17 million in 2024.
Walberg said. Shircliff’s actions “Have been instrumental in helping veterans navigate the process of securing their benefits.”
Walberg’s office is accepting nominations for future Veterans of the Month from Michigan’s 5th Congressional District.
