The Hillsdale City Council has approved a change to City Manager and Board of Public Utilities Director David Mackie’s employment contract.
Mackie proposed an amendment that would involve continuing in the dual role for the remaining three years of his contract. After that, he would transition to serving solely as BPU Director.
Mackie said the change is aimed at creating a clear path to leadership transition for both the city and the BPU.
The proposal has been reviewed and approved by the BPU Board, the Operations & Governance Committee, and the Mayor.
Mackie was hired as City Manager in 2016.
