Hillsdale Hospital’s CEO Wins National Award For Leadership

Hillsdale Hospital President and CEO Jeremiah “JJ” Hodshire has received a top national honor. The Malcolm Baldrige Foundation awarded him the 2026 Leadership Excellence in Healthcare Award. The award recognizes leaders across the country who show outstanding leadership and help improve their organizations.
The Baldrige Foundation, created by Congress in 1987, gives this award to organizations and leaders that achieve high standards of performance.
Mark Gross, the hospital’s chief financial officer, praised Hodshire’s work, saying, “JJ’s leadership has improved every part of the hospital — from patient care to finances,” Gross said. “cares deeply about the community and rural hospitals across the country.”
Hodshire has brought new specialty services like vascular care, neurosurgery, and podiatry to Hillsdale Hospital. He also shares information about rural healthcare through radio shows, social media, and podcasts. Hodshire regularly talks with government leaders about the health needs of his community and rural areas nationwide.
Hodshire will receive the award at a ceremony in Baltimore on March 31st.
