Officials have released a statement in connection with an incident involving a Hillsdale County vehicle that left a woman severely injured.
Joni Norris was on her daily walk on Tuesday when she was struck by a pickup truck owned and operated by Hillsdale County.
She was airlifted to a Toledo-area hospital, where family members say she faces a long road to recovery.
The incident remains under investigation.
In a statement released Friday, County Officials said the employee who was driving the truck has been placed on leave, and the county is cooperating in the investigation.
The GoFundMe account to help offset Norris’ medical bills has raised over $11,000 of its $13,000 goal.
