wcsr-dale-news-header-2
Voters in Fayette Township will elect a clerk during a special election on August 4th.
Candidates must be registered voters within Fayette Township to run for the position. County party committees have until March 26 at 4:00 pm to submit a nominee to the Hillsdale County Clerk’s Office, as required by state law.
People interested in running as a party candidate can contact the local Democratic Party Committee at hillsdalecountydems@gmail.com or the Republican Party Committee at bleinin@outlook.com.
Candidates who are not affiliated with a party can file with the Hillsdale County Clerk by May 5th, at 4 p.m. Potential candidates must submit between nine and thirty valid signatures on their petitions to qualify.
Former Fayette Township Clerk Jessica Bradley announced her resignation in mid-January.
The election comes as township officials deal with public scrutiny over a potential 1,350-acre solar installation.
