The Fayette Township Board will hold a special meeting this evening, as they’re expected to vote on finalizing a Compatible Renewable Energy Ordinance (CREO) , which is aimed at keeping local control over renewable energy projects.
The township Planning Commission approved language for the CREO last month.
The document was forwarded to the Hillsdale County Planning Commission, which gave its approval last week.
Tonight’s vote will be on the final approval of the ordinance.
April will be a busy month for Fayette Township officials as they host tonight’s special meeting, along with a regular meeting of the township Planning Commission on April 6th.
A regular township board meeting is set for April 13th, and a “Pre-Application” public hearing for the Heartwood II solar project is scheduled for April 16th.
All of the meetings will begin at 7:00 in the Cafetorium at Jonesville High School.
