A Michigan nonprofit is working to help cancer patients get the medication they need and reduce waste.
Cancer medications can cost several thousand dollars a month.
Since 2023, YesRx has collected thousands of donations of unused cancer and supportive medications from patients, families, and caregivers. It has distributed more than $27 million worth of free medication to clinics in Michigan to help patients.
To encourage donations, YesRx will hold a week-long event from April 20th to the 24th.
People can donate their unused, sealed medications at local clinics around Michigan. The medications must be in their original packaging, have at least six months before expiration, and be able to be stored at room temperature. Details about how to donate are available on www.yesrx.org.
