Planning a camping trip in Michigan just got easier. The Department of Natural Resources has launched a new “flexible dates” tool on its reservation website. The new feature allows travelers to search for available spots without picking a specific day first. Users can now select a preferred month, the number of nights they want to stay, and whether they need a weekend. The system then shows all available dates that match those needs. Reservations for campsites, lodging, and harbor slips can be made up to six months in advance. This means travelers can currently book trips through September. The DNR says the goal of the update is to help more people find open spots during the busy summer season.
