Camden Township has announced that its Transfer Station on Brott Road will close at the end of June.
The decision was made at a recent meeting of the Township Board of Trustees.
Officials said fewer residents are using the facility, and the costs to keep it open are increasing.
Many residents now use curbside pickup services for trash and recycling.
The township is exploring options to help residents dispose of larger items. One idea is to hold Spring and Fall Clean-up days where residents can drop off big items. However, no specific dates have been set yet.
Once the dates are decided, information will be posted on the township’s website at camdentownship.info and on the Camden News and Views Facebook page.
