Hillsdale College To Educate Military Leaders

wcsr-dale-news-header-2
Hillsdale College has expressed its eagerness to help educate senior U.S. military officers.
Fox News reports that Hillsdale President Larry Arnn sent a letter to War Secretary Pete Hegseth on March 30th, thanking the department for selecting the college for the Senior Service College Fellowship Program.
The program sends top military officers to civilian schools to prepare for leadership roles. Arnn praised the move and said Hillsdale supports efforts to strengthen the military’s skills to protect the nation.
The letter comes after Hegseth announced that the Department of War would cut ties with Ivy League schools like Harvard and Princeton. The department canceled 93 fellowship spots at 22 universities, citing concerns over “woke” ideology weakening military education. Hegseth, a Princeton and Harvard alumnus, said, “We train warriors, not wokesters.”
Instead, the Pentagon is now guiding officers toward schools like Hillsdale, Liberty University, George Mason, Pepperdine, and others that emphasize “intellectual freedom” and align with the department’s mission.
In his letter, Arnn highlighted Hillsdale’s focus on the U.S. Constitution and Western political philosophy.
He added that the college refuses government funding to stay independent. The shift marks a change in how military leaders will receive education, favoring institutions that match the administration’s values.
