Hillsdale College is kicking off a three-day “All-American Hometown Celebration” today to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The event, which runs through Saturday, features activities both on the college campus and in downtown Hillsdale. The celebration is part of a national effort to mark the country’s 250th anniversary this year.
A major highlight of the weekend is the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum. This traveling exhibit offers visitors a chance to see historical displays and learn about the stories that shaped the nation. The college is partnering with the national America 250″ initiative, which aims to involve all Americans in celebrating the country’s history.
The event focuses on teaching citizens about the country’s founding principles, such as self-government and natural rights.
In addition to the mobile museum, the weekend includes a “Story of America” video series featuring Hillsdale President Larry Arnn. The celebration is free and open to families in the community. Organizers say the goal is to bring people together and inspire a deeper love for the country through education and community connection.
