Bryant Faces More Charges Behind Bars

A Hillsdale County man, who is already serving time for carrying a pipe bomb on a motorcycle, now faces new felony charges for allegedly making a weapon while behind bars.
34-year-old Arvil Bryant Jr. of Litchfield was charged in Steuben County, Indiana, last week, with being an inmate in possession of a dangerous device.
Authorities say Bryant was in possession of a homemade knife, known as a shank, which he planned to use in an attack.
In May 2024, state police tracked him to a gas station in Fremont, Indiana. During that arrest, officers found a stolen 9mm handgun and a pipe bomb strapped to the handlebars of his motorcycle.
In August 2025, Bryant was sentenced to five years in federal prison for that incident after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. Attorney Scott Proctor previously described the 2024 scene as an “explosives-laden motorcycle.”
If convicted of the latest charge, Bryant could face an additional 2 to 12 years in prison.
