A court hearing for a father accused of killing his three sons has been pushed back for a second time.
53-year-old John Skelton was initially scheduled to appear for a preliminary exam in Lenawee County District Court this week. However, that hearing, which had previously been adjourned to July, has now been moved to August 24th.
The delay is the latest setback in a case that has remained a mystery for more than 15 years.
Skelton faces three counts of open murder and three counts of tampering with evidence.
Prosecutors filed the charges in late 2025, just as Skelton was finishing a prison sentence for unlawful imprisonment related to the case.
Tanner, Alexander, and Andrew Sketlon were 5, 7, and 9 years old when they vanished from Morenci during the 2010 Thanksgiving holiday.
Despite years of searches across Michigan and Ohio, the boys have not been found. A court officially declared them dead in March 2025.
