Waldron Area Schools is seeking parent volunteers for several summer initiatives, including a committee to help select the district’s next assistant principal.
In a recent district newsletter, Superintendent Matt Furtney invited families to take an active role in preparing for the upcoming school year through three separate opportunities, including joining interview panels, assisting with summer facility projects, or providing direct feedback on school operations.
The district is currently hiring a K-12 Director of Student Success and Engagement, a role that also serves as assistant principal. Parents who join the interview committee would need to commit to several daytime sessions.
The district will use a rolling interview process, evaluating qualified candidates as applications arrive rather than scheduling all interviews on a single day.
In addition to the hiring committee, Furtney is seeking volunteers for hands-on maintenance and preparation projects across school buildings this summer.
