Jackson College is launching a new program at its Hillsdale Campus to help students quickly build skills for careers in advanced manufacturing and industrial operations.
The Production Technician Certificate program can be completed in just two semesters. Students will receive hands-on training in areas that include workplace safety, quality control, blueprint reading, and basic electricity. The program also offers summer options for students who want to specialize in specific skills.
Students can earn national credentials from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council.
The college is also partnering with the Hillsdale Area Career Center to support local students.
Zak McNitt, interim director of the Hillsdale Campus, said graduates will be ready for jobs in advanced manufacturing, automation, and maintenance.
Classes start this fall, including industrial safety and blueprint reading. Interested students can find the course schedule online at jccmi.edu or contact the Hillsdale Campus on West Carleton Road at 517-437-3343 for more information.
