The Litchfield City Council has voted to offer the vacant City Manager’s position to current Bronson Assistant City Manager Patrick Bird.
Bird, along with Assistant Hillsdale City Manager Sam Fry, took part in a second round of interviews during a special meeting on Monday.
They were the two finalists from a field of five candidates who were interviewed in the first round.
City officials are working to finalize an offer to present to Bird. They’re also awaiting the results of a background check.
If Bird accepts the offer, it will be sometime in September before he takes the reins in Litchfield. He told the council he has a handful of projects in Bronson that are nearing completion.
Council began the search for a new manager when former City Manager Nicole Benson gave 60 days’ notice back in May. She has taken a job in the private sector.
