Authorities are continuing their investigation of a pair motorcycle crashes that occurred in Wheatland Township Saturday afternoon.
Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to North Jerome Road, north of East Bacon Road, around 4:20 pm.
Investigators say 41-year-old Melissa Moore of Mattawan was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson northbound when she collided with a 2000 Harley-Davidson, driven by 40-year-old Tom Hess Jr. of Reading. Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash.
Deputies then learned that a third motorcycle was involved in a separate, unrelated crash at the same location.
Addison EMS and Hudson EMS transported the injured riders to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not released the identity of the third rider or the current conditions of those involved.
The Michigan State Police assisted deputies at the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies say the cause of the crashes remains under investigation.
