The Sauk in Jonesville is hosting its annual “Plays-in-Development” series on Friday and Saturday, featuring staged readings of three new theatrical works.
The showcase opens at 7:30 pm Friday, with double-feature readings of “The Friendly Family,” directed by Trinity Bird, and “One Night in a Living Room,” directed by Kiralyn Nelson.
The series continues Saturday, at 7:30 pm. with “Heart. Point. Four Fingers,” directed by Jennifer Wagler. Following each reading, audience members will take part in a live talkback session with the playwrights.
The Sauk’s nationally recognized program brings local actors and directors together with writers from across the country. The public readings allow community members to offer feedback to help shape the plays before they are finalized. Over the past 11 years, the program has helped develop 35 new plays.
