Just over 1,100 voters in the city of Hillsdale turned out to elect a new mayor on Tuesday.
Scott Sessions defeated Matthew Bentley by a margin of 67 votes.
The total was 588 votes for Sessions and 521 votes for Bentley.
Sessions formerly served as Mayor of Hillsdale from 2013 to 2017.
Bentley is currently serving his first term as a councilman in Ward 2.
The two men were the top vote-getters in an August runoff election.
With the election of Sessions, the council will be at full strength with nine members.
Councilman Joshua Paladino has served as Mayor Pro-Tem since Former Mayor Adam Stockford moved out of the city at the end of 2024.
