The Hillsdale County Treasurer’s Office announced that, due to circumstances beyond their control, 2026 dog licenses will only be available in the county Treasurer’s Office. Local townships will not be selling dog tags this year. Licenses go on sale December 1st, but dog tags are not yet available. The office will not be able to process or issue dog tags until they receives the tags from the supplier.
Residents can obtain an application at the Treasurer’s Office or from the Hillsdale Daily News. Completed applications can be brought in person or mailed to the address provided on the form. Once the dog tags arrive, the Treasurer’s Office will process the applications and mail the tags to dog owners.
