The Hillsdale City Council will consider a proposed change to City Manager David Mackie’s employment contract when they meet this evening.
Mackie, who currently holds the dual role of City Manager and Director of the Board of Public Utilities has proposed an amendment that would involve continuing in the dual role for the remaining three years of his contract. After that, he would transition to serving solely as BPU Director.
Mackie said the change would create a clear leadership transition for both the city and the BPU. There’s also a projected cost savings over the next five years from the change.
The proposal has been reviewed by the BPU Board, the Operations & Governance Committee, and the Mayor.
The City Council will discuss the changes at this evening’s meeting, which gets underway at 7:00 pm, on the third floor of city hall.
