Area Firefighters Mourn Loss Of One Of Their Own

A longtime local firefighter has died.
Eric Pressler died Friday. He was 74.
Tributes poured in from social media accounts of several area fire departments and Pressler’s fellow firefighters, following the announcement of his passing.
A Hillsdale native, Pressler dedicated 40 years to firefighting, working at the Hillsdale Rural Fire Department and retiring as a captain from the Hillsdale City Fire Department.
He was also a coach for youth teams for more than 35 years in Hillsdale and Jonesville. He was a graduate of Hillsdale High School and a veteran of the Michigan National Guard.
He’s survived by his wife, two children, and four grandchildren.
A memorial visitation for Eric Pressler will be held on February 22nd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. The family suggests donations to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
