The Faster Horses Festival will not return to Michigan International Speedway in 2026. Organizers announced the cancellation after a planned pause in 2025 for the country music event that has drawn tens of thousands of fans since 2013.
The festival, known as the “Party of the Summer,” attracted over 40,000 attendees annually for performances by major country artists.
However, the event has also been marred by safety concerns. In 2021, four deaths occurred at the festival, including three from carbon monoxide poisoning. The festival has also taxed local law enforcement and emergency medical resources, with a high volume of alcohol-related calls.
Organizers had previously said they planned to use last year’s break to improve the festival.
No future dates have been announced.
