Consumers Energy crews were working to restore power to a number of local customers on Tuesday, after high winds and thunderstorms brought down tree limbs and power lines.
While fewer than 100 customers remained offline in Hillsdale County as of 8:00 am, there were nearly 1,000 without power in Branch County.
Storms rolled through the area late Monday afternoon and again overnight, knocking down tree limbs and disrupting power.
Power is expected to be restored to most local Consumers Energy customers by noon today.
