Michigan’s Unemployment Rate Held Steady In April
According to data released Thursday by the Michigan Department of Labor, the state’s latest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 5.0 percent.
Labor officials say the data show that the economy is stable.
Michigan’s jobless rate had been declining since the second quarter of 2025, but has now leveled off.
While the number of available jobs has declined over the year, workforce numbers are down as well, resulting in a stable unemployment rate.
Local unemployment numbers are expected to be released later this month.
