wcsr-dale-news-header-2

A Branch County man was convicted Thursday of sexually assaulting two girls, aged 11 and 12,  and providing them with methamphetamine.
47-year-old Anthony Cuyler, of Union City, was extradited from Mexico in April 2024 to face charges from a case that started in 2019.
According to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, Cuyler was accused of providing the victims with drugs and sexually assaulting them.
He fled Michigan and was on the run for years before Mexican authorities apprehended him and returned him to Michigan.
The U.S. The Marshals Service helped extradite him as part of Operation Survivor Justice, a partnership to find and bring back fugitives accused of sexual crimes.
Following a jury trial that began last week, Cuyler was found guilty in Branch County Circuit Court of three counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and one count of delivering methamphetamine to a minor.
He faces up to life in prison when he’s sentenced on February 9th.
