
A full field of candidates has filed to run for the five Hillsdale City Council seats that are up for election this year.
Councilmen Bob Flynn and Matt Bentley have filed to run for the Mayor’s seat. Scott Sessions, who is currently serving a one-year partial term, is not seeking re-election.
In Ward One, Connie Bennett and Jill Hardaway are running for the seat currently held by Greg Stuchell, who is term-limited.
Ward Two Councilman Will Morrisey is also term-limited. Former Councilwoman Cindy Pratt is the lone candidate in Ward Two.
Three candidates filed to run in Ward Three. John Kast, Matthew Kniffin (Niffin), and Amber Yoder will meet in a runoff election on August 4th. Two candidates will move on to the November general election. Current Ward Three Councilman Gary Wolfram did not seek reelection.
In Ward Four, David Hambleton and Steve McDowell will meet in the November general election. They’re vying for the seat that’s currently held by Joshua Paladino, who did not seek reelection.
